Libor Kaňka grew up in a professional violinist’s family and early on, together with his two brothers, developed a love and understanding of chamber music. He is a pupil of Josef Vlach, leader of the legendary Vlach Quartet. Apart from having been one of the Martinů Quartet’s founders, he has been a member of the Prague Chamber Orchestra and as such has worked under distinguished conductors, including Trevor Pinnock, Sir Charles Mackerras, Salvatore Accardo and others, with whom he has made dozens of records and toured widely all over the world.New Paragraph
